PR pathway for Electricians in Australia

TRA (Trades Recognition Australia) is the skills assessment body for trade qualifications. Hence you need a positive assessment from them for your skills as an electrician.

TRA’s assessment includes two steps.

  1. Verification of your qualifications and work experience
  2. Technical test

On successful completion of these stages, you will be provided with OTSR (Offshore Technical Skills Record). With OTSR, you can apply for a provisional licence in any of the states or territories you are looking to work in. From here, you gain further qualifications and training to obtain your full licence.  But, possessing a work licence alone does not guarantee you a work visa. You need to apply for the right visa through General Skilled Migration or Employer sponsored stream.
